Get Ready! Get Set! Start giving Baby Twee' a middle name. What will it be? Twee'______________Caron? ![]() Over my lifetime, several songs became popular about singing your own special song. A recording group called Mammas and the Pappas, wrote and sang one entitled "Sing Your Own Kind of Music." An earlier song from an old musical, included the lyrics "Sing, Sing a Song. Don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear. Just sing, sing a song." These, and other tunes remain with me today. Perhaps you have experienced meaningful songs that 'stuck' with you from time to time. This could be the music you continue to play within yourself throughout your life. This music helped you build your sense of self and your attitude. In addition, your personal tunes have an effect on those around you. Our personal songs are simply loud enough for others to hear. Think about it! Bees buzz, birds sing, cats purr, even whales have a song. Have you listened as leaves crunch under your feet, or trees blow in the wind? Even creatures who do not have a voice loud enough for the human ear, provide their own kind of song. A snake slithers, slugs slime, butterflies dance. Non-living things also make sounds: wind, water, earth quakes, tides, and volcanoes. We humans have songs too. We carry many songs within us. Many are the themes and messages we send inward to ourselves and outward to others throughout our lives. If we check we may discover that our songs are pleasant, helpful, and kind. Sometimes we may have included scary, mean or judgmental music. At other times we may play sad, mournful or lonely tunes. What are the songs you carry in your heart? Can you name them? Today, take a minute to discover the songs within you. Make a list! If you like them, tell them "Welcome" and enjoy! If not then perhaps take the first step to change. It's not too hard...just change the tape, or DVD or radio station in your mind. Focus on the music you want to hear and that will carry outward to others. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'd love to hear from you in comments below. What are some of the song titles or lyrics of your life that you'd like to share here? If you want you could also share why was it meaningful or how it has changed you. Thanks for the visit ! Susie E. Caron ![]() Twee' and I received a series of wonderful, thoughtful and fun questions in our contest this past weekend (ending 6/2/2013). Thank you to everyone who joined in by either posting questions, or just checking in to see how we were doing. We had a great time! Now I'd like to share the categories and announce the winner! But first a confession from me. This was the first time I ever hosted a contest. As a result, some of those who asked questions posted them in a few different areas and threads. My fault. I hope to find a better way to do this next time. If you have suggestions, feel free to message me or post it. Everyone who posted questions was soooo generous that Twee' and I really wish we could reward you all for getting involved. Please send me your email so I can at least thank you personally. The winner, revealed below, receives a free copy of Twee' signed by me! In addition, I would like to take each question to write a blog about it on www.susiecaron.com. (I will protect your identities and use only your initials, unless you tell me otherwise. Message me about your preferences.) Before I announce the winner, I want everyone to know the possible categories from which I selected the winner. 1st category: questions about my activities in actually writing Twee'. This category breaks down into the following four: 1. the process of actually writing. 2. the production (including finding a 'publisher', an artist etc.), 3. self-publishing activities. 4. social media marketing activities. The 5th category covered any question about derived meanings within my allegory. The 6th category included any question pertaining to my next book in the series. The 7th category included all questions posed directly to Twee'. Now to announce the winning category, question and winner of this contest. Drum roll please! And the winning question is in the - 5th Category: Potential Meanings within my allegory, who asked: "Having read this great book, I'm curious, as a psychologist, what age group do you believe a child would most cognitively grasp the meaning of the book?" The Winner is Jennifer G.. Congratulations! Jennifer please private message me with your email and snail mail address so you can receive your prize! Thank you ALL again. "I can't wait for next time!" Oh Twee' we have to be patient. "Okay. Thank you and see you next time everyone!" copyright 2013. Susie E. Caron |

Blog Reviews & Thank You!
Sheila Michelle July 13 at 7:17pm · Just wanted to say that I love your posts about the different ways to connect/relate/understand your child. It has given me a new approach towards understanding my daughter and allowing HER to tell me how she feels instead of me suggesting to her how she should feel. Thanks Susie! |
